چکیده

The problem of finding the optimal timing of audit activities within an organisation has been addressed by many researchers. We propose a stochastic programming formulation with Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) and Constraint Programming (CP) certainty-equivalent models. In experiments neither approach dominates the other. However, the CP approach is orders of magnitude faster for large audit times, and almost as fast as the MILP approach for small audit times. Uncertain Resource Availabilities: Proactive and Reactive Procedures for Preemptive Resource Constrained project Scheduling Problem

Project scheduling is the part of project management that deals with determining when intime to start (and finish) which activities and with the allocation of scarce resources to theproject activities. In practice, virtually all project managers are confronted with resourcescarceness. In such cases, the Resource-Constrained Project Scheduling Problem (RCPSP)arises. This optimization problem has...

Three Hybrid Metaheuristic Algorithms for Stochastic Flexible Flow Shop Scheduling Problem with Preventive Maintenance and Budget Constraint

Stochastic flexible flow shop scheduling problem (SFFSSP) is one the main focus of researchers due to the complexity arises from inherent uncertainties and also the difficulty of solving such NP-hard problems. Conventionally, in such problems each machine’s job process time may encounter uncertainty due to their relevant random behaviour. In order to examine such problems more realistically, fi...

The Combinatorial Multi-Mode Resource Constrained Multi-Project Scheduling Problem

This paper presents the formulation and solution of the Combinatorial Multi-Mode Resource Constrained Multi-Project Scheduling Problem. The focus of the proposed method is not on finding a single optimal solution, instead on presenting multiple feasible solutions, with cost and duration information to the project manager. The motivation for developing such an approach is due in part to practica...

Ordinal comparison of heuristic algorithms using stochastic optimization

The performance of heuristic algorithms for combinatorial optimization is often sensitive to problem instances. In extreme cases, a specialized heuristic algorithm may perform exceptionally well on a particular set of instances while fail to produce acceptable solutions on others. Such a problem-sensitive nature is most evident in algorithms for combinatorial optimization problems such as job s...

Addressing a Coordinated Quay Crane Scheduling and Assignment Problem by Red Deer Algorithm

Nowadays, there is much attention for planning of container terminals in the global trade centers. The high cost of quay cranes motivates both scholars and industrial practitioners especially in the last decade to develop novel optimization models to address this dilemma. This study proposes a coordinated optimization model to cover both Quay Crane Scheduling Problem (QCSP) and Quay Crane Assig...
